Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

Loved the book, especially the ending. And that's all I will say. Greg is an awkward kid, Earl is his best friend, and the dying girl? That's Rachel, a girl he was just awful to when he was younger.

She has Leukemia, and his mom butts in and forces him to giver her a call.

That being said, the movie is awful! I don't know, maybe it's that Greg isn't all that likable a fellow and 2 hours of putting up with him is too much - lol. At least the book has some backstory and explanations of his obnoxiousness.
