Review - Women Know Everything

I just received Women Know Everything from Quirk this week.  I haven't read it cover to cover, but I've gotten enough to do a good review.  And yes this is a positive review.

This is an updated version with a new cover and new quotes from the 2007 version.  The quotes are arranged in an A-Z format of topics by many famous women who are anything from politicians, actors and even madams.  This is a book that will get your mind working.  Some topics are taboo (prostitution, abortion), some are quite ordinary (fashion, age).

I think both women and men should buy this book, no matter what your background it will broaden your horizons, induce conversations, and maybe even inspire you.

Contraception (under Reproductive Rights)
"Japanese Women are refusing to take birth control pills, opting to leave contraception up to men.  Do you know what they call women who leave birth control up to men? Mothers." - Jenifery Valley, 20th/21st Century American Comedian.

Clothes
"A little bad taste is like a nice dash of paprika." - Dorothy Parker (1893-1967), American Writer and Critic

Procrastination
"One thing that's good about procrastination is that you always have something planned for tomorrow." - Gladys Bronwyn Stern (1890-1973), English Writer

Smoking
"I quite smoking. I feel better. I smell better. And it's safer to drink from old beer cans lying around the house." - Roseanne Barr (1952-), American Comedian (I love this, I remember my parents putting cigarette butts in their cans, YUCK!)

In the back there is an index by name, I used that to find this Roseanne Barr quote.  Really fun book that I will be picking up, randomly selecting a quote to think on.  And whenever I do go back to work, it'll go with me and live on my desk for inspiration or to share.
